[Bug 482501] Re: Karmic incorrectly mounts USB disk (NTFS) as 700, cannot change behavior.
After some research I found that mount options for devicekit-disks were hardcoded into it. So I made a patch to fix it. Woohoo! Thanks David!! Although this is a workaround, there is no problem with it, it does the desired behavior (i.e. plays the shutdown/logout sound on logout and shutdown) and conforms with all the necessary configuration (i.e. if in Preferences Sound you have sounds disabled, it will not play). [Bug 498817] [NEW] Merge changes from clutter-gtk
Public bug reported: Lucid has currently clutter-gtk and clutter-gtk-0.10, both being the same upstream version (0.10.2). As both build the same binary packages, this leads that the ones from clutter-gtk-0.10 override the ones from clutter-gtk as the version for the first ones is larger (see the upload error for clutter-gtk on armel: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/36969151/upload_1382880_log.txt). It should be probably be best to move our changes from clutter-gtk to clutter-gtk-0.10. But I currently don't have an idea what to do with clutter-gtk. It exists in Debian as version 0.8 so it's hard to get it back to this version, so it would probably be best to remove it from lucid. ** Affects: clutter-gtk-0.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Merge changes from clutter-gtk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/498817 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 463940] Re: No fans, thermalzone on HP Envy 15 and HP DV6T Quad
FYI and FWIW, I run openSuSE 11.2 and just about everything works. Here's my summary... - Thermal zone comes online if I have the thermal module load after boot finishes, not sure if ubuntu has the 3 different options for module loading - initrd, boot, and after fs mounted - no fan detected, but I'm guessing either there isn't a controllable fan, but even if there is, my fan regulates properly so I don't care - TurboBoost (I believe) is working, which requires a much longer explanation, which I'll be happy to post separately - multiple battery detection works fine Misc hardware - working w/o tweaks - fan adjusts with temp changes - batteries discharge and charge sequentially - sound card - web cam - microphone - card reader - HDMI audio and video - backlight control soft keys - volume soft keys - wifi/bluetooth soft keys - lock screen soft keys - productivity soft keys (vertically along the left) Misc hardware - working w/small tweak - trackpad works just fine, in fact better than with Windows, does require small hal policy for auto configuring - external display soft-key - works, not sure what the 3 different modes are that it cycles through though, or how to identify them Problems - can't get fglrx to work Seems as though the video card doesn't get reset properly and the /etc/ati/amdpscdb changes everytime the display is started and I can't ever get X to work more than once with fglrx installed. This seems to possibly be ACPI related. - can't get the volume mute soft-key LED to turn off DSDT - I've corrected the DSDT to compile and optimize, however it doesn't alleviate the parse errors. I believe this is due to the order the kernel goes through the DSDT. I theorize either reordering the DSDT will fix it or a patch to the kernel is necessary. -- No fans, thermalzone on HP Envy 15 and HP DV6T Quad https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/463940 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 498829] [NEW] sound output via headphone is not working correctly
Public bug reported: I have a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile Laptop (X9525) with a docking station. After I updated to Ubuntu 9.10 I encountered problems with the sound system. When I plug a headphone to the laptop, I can still hear sound via the speakers. I am not able to get rid of the sound of the speaker when plugging the headphone to the laptop. [Bug 361991] Re: Sent items are not getting created / Outbox not flushed
I don't know if my problem is related -- I've configured Evolution for imap, and smtp to send mail. I find that if I send email soon after connecting to my Red Hat linux email server, I don't have any problems. But if I read email for a while, move to various imap folders, etc. -- then, send an email -- it remains stuck in the outbox. I have to exit Evolution and restart it -- then, I reopen any of the N emails in the outbox and resend, and they all go. (Note: This trick does not work until I exit and restart.) Sometimes I can't exit Evolution -- it hangs. Then I have to kill it via the System Monitor. I'm running Evolution 2.28.1 under ubuntu 9.10. [Bug 498845] [NEW] resume takes a long time (several minutes)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pm-utils Suspend and resume usually works OK after a fresh boot, but after the computer is used for a a few hours or a program that consumes a lot of memory was used and closed (such as a virtual machine), resuming starts taking several minutes. The first time it happens it might only take 1-2 minutes to resume. The next time it will be 2-4 minutes. During this time the hard drive is thrashing constantly. Before suspending, I have no swap used, and after resuming there is usually at least 1GB of swap used. It appears that the system swaps everything out to disk upon resume.
