Re: questions

2018-04-06 Thread John van Barneveld

No you will not lose your files and you will be able to access your old
files. If you are really worried that you will you could back them up
temporarily to a USB stick.

You have not said what your operating system is. If it is Win10, have a
look at "Start" - "Settings" - "System" and under "Display" make sure
that the "Change the size of text, apps and other items" is set to the
recommended 150% or greater.

Subject: questions

Good morning,

I love open office and have used it for many years. My question is if I
download the newest version will it erase all of my saved files? And
can I access the current files I have on this newer version and from my
old computer.

Next for some reason I hit something and my window screen and font is
very small, even with the settings I have for my font. I have searched
for a long time for the answers, the saved ones view ok but it is when
I want to create a new text document. Seems ok in spreadsheet. I sent
an attachment. Please help as I had to print out papers to the Dr using
my email and printing it off.

Thanks, looking forward to wondering what I hit. Since my stroke my
left hand doesn't function as well as it should at times.

Marlene

I will need an answer on or before 28-Nov-2016 so I have time to integrate your

1.)What is your official title within the Apache Software Foundation

2.)Approximately how many users of OpenOffice are there worldwide?

3.)Do you have an estimate as to how many of those users are in the United
States?

4.)On average per year, how many times does OpenOffice release an
update/patch?

I need to know this information by November 23, 2016 so that I can integrate

Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to hear from you soon.

In Writer in OO 4.1.1:

File> New > Labels

You'll get a box with three tabs. The first tab (Labels) gives you a
panel on the right side about 2/3 of the way down the panel to select a
label format by label manufacturer and form number, *e.g.* "Avery 5160
Address".

Other parts of that panel give you the opportunity to custom define a label

Re: Questions - Fragen

2014-09-07 Thread Jörg Schmidt
Hallo,

 1) zum Beispiel: ich arbeite von 07:30 bis 16:15 = 8 3/4 bzw.
8,75 Arbeitsstunden. Was muss ich in meinem Tabellendokument
8,75 Std. Arbeitszeit = 13,71 € ?

Auf ein Tabellenblatt schreibe in Zelle A1:
07:30

In Zelle A2:
16:15

In Zelle A3:
=(A2-A1)*24

In Zelle A4:
=120/A3

Hi Wayne: Just chiming in here: Been using OO for years. No ads, no
frill, no junk. MS, if anything, is the culprit if and when you encounter
problems. These are rare and when you doencounter them you can simply delete
your user prefs file in your OO programs file (search for this on the user
panels). MS stays on the system. But MS is getting more and more tyrannical
with third party. I believe there several class action lawsuits pending or
beginning due to Gate's desire to rule the digital world. Even now I can
hardly install ANYapplication, even those vetted by MS, in Win 7. I won't
 dare deal with Win 8.

Well, both are Microsoft products. There are alternatives, you know… :)

Use the user panels. OO is a robust, better, ethical, iconic package. I
require my students to use it so that they can save 100s of dollars on the
 mafia MS.

Any MS lovers here, get over it. Really.

If you download from http://www.openoffice.org/download then you will
be OK. But be careful about downloading from other websites, since
some of them do bundle adware with the installs. I wrote a blog post

Apache OpenOffice can coexist on the same machine as Microsoft Office.
But if you run in this configuration you should know that only one
application can be the default handler for the doc, xls and ppt file
extensions. So you'll need to decide which app, MS Office or
OpenOffice you want to open these files when you double-click on a
document on the desktop. Watch for this question during the
OpenOffice install.

Note: if you change your mind you can always right click on the file

The OpenOffice install does not touch your MS Office files. If you
want to uninstall MS Office then you will need to do that through
normal means, via the Control Panel.
