[XFree86] Configure Question

2004-03-11 Thread Dave Sorg
I'm running XFree86 on OpenBSD 3.4. I'm not sure of the hardware in my
laptop as I bought it used. I tried configuring it multiple ways. I tried
XFree86 -configure, and then typed in the command startx. I got the error
No Screen Found. I tried XF86Setup, but when I got the menu up, the video
was shaking vertically, and I could not read it. I tried the xfconfig
program, but was not sure of the hardware. The main reason I'm interested in
this program is because a need a good video card driver to use with Mplayer.
Help!

[XFree86] Configure Question

2004-03-10 Thread Dave Sorg
I recently bought a used laptop. I installed OpenBSD 3.4 and XFree86 (all
the X files). I am not sure exactly what video card is in the computer, but
I would like to configure the video driver so I can watch movies in Mplayer.
Is there some kind of automated script that will detect my hardware and
configure XFree86 for it? Also, once everything is configured, what do I
have to type to start the video driver and watch my movie (I can hear the
sound on the video when I play it, just can't see the video)?
