The Cattle Egret was still in the same location today at 10:50 am. In
talking to the farmer who owns the property today, he tells me the bird
first showed up yesterday morning. He says it has been feeding in the field.
The seems quite healthy and moves around a lot. Today I saw the bird flying
A few minutes ago I saw 9 hawks slowly drifting south from the corner of York
Mills and Leslie.
They were quite high, and all looked like Broad-winged or Red-shouldered Hawks
to my untrained eye.
Anyone else see them? They might be just passing High Park about now. Please
reply privately.
Hi Birders,
The day started out with a good NNW wind, but it later died out. We had one
interesting spectacle of a group of Great Egrets coming in off Lake Huron.
We saw some white specks a few kilometres out over the lake just below the
horizon. They turned out to be a tight flock of 32 Great
SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark

Black Vulture
The bird is almost certainly Tee-Dee, a male anatum peregribe. He was
released and fitted with a tranmitter this summer in Kitchener by the
Canadian Peregrine Foundation and the Ontario Hawking Club. Updates on

Betsy and I birded the Erie shore from Rock Point Provincial Park to Fort
Erie today. Several places near the shore were full of songbirds,
especially Rock Point. The best bird was a very late BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER
at Rock Point associating with a large flock of both kinglets, chickadees,
The Western Kingbird was still being seen by birders in the morning and
early afternoon of November 1, 2003 in the field adjacent and to the
east of the construction site of the new Miramichi Lodge along the
Ottawa River just west of downtown Pembroke. Quickest access is from
Riverside Park,
Nineteen participants in a Quinte Field Naturalist outing got a good look at
a black vulture at 11:40 a.m., Nov. 1 among the red-tailed hawks and turkey
vultures near the banding station at Prince Edward Point. The bird did not
reappear.
