make a post like this, that could be easily interpreted as rather
thoroughly insulting someone - and I'm taking the liberty of
presuming that wasn't actually your intent.

Unfortunately it may be one of those situations where his brain can't
grasp the concept fully. That's not a criticism or insult at all. Like I
said I have a dear friend who has the same or at least a similar issue.
It might also be something easier to show in person with physical
objects.

But now he can't grasp the concept of objects been in different places
when you change direction!
