Below is a message that I sent to infra@, in order to figure out where
the dev dist directory gets hosted.
I've done the following today:
1 - created a RC1 release candidate as SOURCE ONLY. I'm using that
to iron out the process itself (for example, the issue below).
2 - documented
And here's our answer. I'll rework the process a bit, and get a
ticket opened with infra for a release directory.

Usually permission should be asked before forwarding posts made on a
non-public list to a public list. (However, in this specific instance I
don't mind.)
You could have CC'd your dev@ or private@ list on the infra thread, too.
