Perhaps my great granfather Joel Parrish knew Jefferson Davis since he
was an officer in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. My
Granfather George Sumpter Parrish passed away last September at the age
of 97. I never got the chance to talk much to him about his

across; one said he was Catholic; the other said he was baptzed

To the gentleman enquiring if Jeff Davis was catholic, the answer is
yes. A lot of the old Southern families werethe Carrolls of
Carollton - one was the first Catholic Bishop as I recall from America.
