was that it says you need the partition you load Linux on to start at
cylinder 1023 or lower. I loaded Debian on the last gig of a 6gb drive and

that Loadlin can boot linux when it's in another
partition? I had thought its main use was to allow Linux to boot from a
dos subdirectory /linux. In my case, running Win95B with FAT32, I
understand Linux would not support running in that file system. Am I
incorrect?

drive! There even is a 10-20M swap partition and the rest is for the
system. He set up a boot diskette and there it all was. Very nice.
Something like that IMHO should be the goal of this in-between
distribution.
