The current beta has pack-rul.mkiv adapted ... it also uses the
commandhandler code now so you might want to have a look at it. There
are now only a few mechanisms left that don't use the new parent chain
code. AFAIKS the speed penalty is neglectable.

Hi Wolfgang et al,
I cleaned up mkiv'd pack-rul, meta-ini, anch-pgr etc and for sure there
have been bugs introduced. A couple of mkii artefacts have been removed
and some speedups were possible (important as framed is a core macro so
especially backgrounds have been redone a bit). I still

Hi,
For those with access to it, I've put a new beta on the ftp server. The
main 'change' is that I changed all (still left) tex.sprint etc calls
into calls in the context namespace. Todo is to create a namespace for
helpers. The advantage (and reason for doing it) is that tracing with
Hi,
For those with access to the ftp server: there is a new beta. There are
two important changes:
- When a font is not found (by file) the file database is regenerated if
there is a mismatch with the format version.
- All (most) file related code has been moved to the file-* files. In
Hi,
For those with ftp access .. the new beta version there is somewhat
experimental as I rewrote some of the (lua) font code
- alternative basemode definitions (context only, experimental)
- cleaned up node mode initialization
- less memory usage due to adapted data structures
- a bit

Hi,
I uploaded a beta to the ftp server. Changes are:
-- cleaned up logging, consistently using logs.new
-- this makes it possible to disable log categories (using --silent or
using directive logs.blocked)
-- cleaned up regime code (also a hack to force loading under utf)
-- as a side effect

Hi,
[for those with access to the ftp server]
There have been some changes to the resolver code. In order to make
trees relocatable (handy if you run from a usb stick or so), the texroot
is now more abstract. The final implemention might change but it seems
to work ok (here).
It can be
