Re: [Dx4win] TQSL 1.14.1 Database Error?

2013-06-22 Thread Rick Murphy
FYI,
This error happens when a users directory on a Windows system contains
non-ASCII characters, such as accented characters, etc. Or a translated
version of Users that's not plain text.

There's an update available from the Sourceforge page, 1.14.2, that
corrects this defect. See
https://sourceforge.net/projects/trustedqsl/files/ for the download.

Jan verified that installing the update corrected the reported problem.

Re: [Dx4win] TQSL 1.14.1

2013-06-11 Thread Art - W6KY
TQSL Ver 1.14.1 is truly incredible. Works
better than it should...

Some people have NO sense of humor.
After receiving over 100 eMails in response to
my LOTW nastygram the other day, I decided
to upgrade.
The eMails ranged from kudos (DX4DOS users)
for giving the ARRL 'what for', to death threats.
I hope Obama was reading those eMails in between
holes at the course.

Now I'm looking forward to TQSL 1.14.2 which
will go to the NSA first before going to LOTW.
QSO's with enemies list countries, like Texas!

with it. Can't really figure what features 1.14.1 must have
over the old version that uploads my TQSL files
lightning fast
The speed with which the ARRL irons out problems
with LOTW, maybe I'll try it in 2015... :)  It took them
years to figure out LOTW was 'slow' (understatement)...

I downloaded this and installed it; uninstalling the old one automatically.
I then tried to set a batch of calls to LotW using the DX4WIN tab. It said
no certificate. So I used TQSLcert to try and load the certificate (.tq6)
that was in the save folder and it says I cannot as there is no key
available.  Is there a fix for this?

Re: [Dx4win] TQSL 1.14.1

2013-06-03 Thread Rick Murphy
Jim is right about this- the 1.14 upgrade doesn't remove your certificates
or station setup.

Those files are stored in %AppData%\TrustedQSL and shouldn't have been
deleted during the upgrade.

Did you perhaps run the old installer as Administrator and now not running
it as Administrator? It may be that your certificates and station data are
stranded in an Administrator folder..

If you could, please search your computer for a file called station_data.
It should be in c:\Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\TrustedQSL on an XP system if I remember correctly.

You can only re-install a certificate from a .p12 file. If you didn't
save your cert to a .p12 file, you'll have to request a new cert from
ARRL, as if you are a new user.

I didn't think that uninstalling the program would remove your
certificates or station locations, at least that has not been my
experience. Did you use some tool like Revo Uninstaller and tell it
 to remove EVERYTHING?

[Dx4win] TQSL 1.14.1

2013-06-03 Thread w8gc
Just a suggestion if you are signed in to the ARRL lotw site and you try
to use TQSL 1.14.1 it will go through the complete process and tell you
it did not work, you can not be in the web site and upload from TQSL 1.14.1

Maybe that is some of the problem? I use it 2 or 3 times a week with
zero problems.

Re: [Dx4win] TQSL 1.14.1

2013-06-03 Thread Rick Murphy
Bob,
Please explain.
There is no problem whatsoever with being logged in to the LoTW site when
uploading logs to LoTW. None.

ARRL made a bunch of changes to the LoTW webpages over the last couple of
weeks that broke all sorts of things, including TQSL. There is no problem
as far as I know that matches what you're saying.
