It is fine with how it is for me. Been with since the beginning.. I'm getting to old and forgetful for a big change. As for satellite logging, I gave up on DX4Win, because of the lack of satellite names updates. I use N3FJP ACLog to keep a separate log of satellite contacts. It is a lot less headache for me. Easy to configure the entry screen to show satellite info. Easy tracking dupes. Easy to keep track of the right 'sat name' yourself and set prop mode 'sat' as LOTW needs. DX4Win still does everything that I need for chasing DX on HF. Can you project your future revenue streams over the next three years? Can you provide actual revenue over the past three years? If so, I am sure we can monetize your financial interest in DX4WIN as it stands today. You have a great product that has stood the test of time over 25 years. I am sure you would like to see it continue well into the future. I am a former partner with Deloitte & Touche and for the last 30 years have owned and operated three family businesses. I am now retired, but I have the background to help in such a transaction. My sole interest is to see DX4WIN become more actively developed and supported for benefit of the general ham radio community. Paul, please let me know via the reflector or privately if the time is right for you to discuss future options. I would also invite any other members of the user community to express their interest in joining me in forming a group to keep DX4WIN alive and as a legacy to its founder. Jim, AD1C, would definitely have to be one of the founding user group members. All if favor, say aye! I am sure that if we formed a user group, we would have many users who would want to volunteer their services to help with various aspects of distribution, user support and development of DX4WIN going forward. In my case I'm not asking for an improvement, I don't care, I'm asking for a database update, satellites database is implemented into DX4WIN code. It doesn't read the information from any file or website that is the problem.. I don't know anything about programing code and I don't know how difficult is to implement it but for me and for many others working satellites it is very important to know which callsigns were worked on what satellite. As a user of DX4WIN since the 90s I really like the software and do not intend to change to any other logging program. Even though some have some nice features I find DX4WIN does everything I need and more. My only request might be to make the upload to lotw more automatic than it is, but that’s it. Hi all I was a very happy user of DX4WIN until I started on satellites 4 years ago, the satellite database is not updated anymore and I had a good response of the developer was that DX4WIN is not profitable so it lost his interest maintaining it updated. I moved to another logging program to handle my 10 qsos and all my stats not a big as Guy's ones but not too bad for 28 years of ham radio. I don't understand why automate a program is a sin. Do you work FT8??? Yes the computer makes the QSO for you!!! Wow mind blowing! I love DX4WIN but now it doesn't cover my needings... Automate is not one of them but there are more. Why is simple b4 I upload I check always for mistakes. Hi. I have used the DX4Win version for many years, I think that since the late 80s or early 90s. I have considered that it is a very stable program, and as some users have indicated here, to upload an Adif file to LOTW only a couple of clicks are needed and it only takes a couple of minutes. We must also thank Jim, for the maintenance of the databases and the complementary programs he has developed so that everything was easier. But I also have to say against him, that when there was a review of version 8, the windows changed position every time the program opened. Here they told me a solution to always remain in the same place, but it did not work for me, and every time the program starts I have to manually place the windows in their position. I think Paul must correct that problem, before moving on to version 9, since many users continue working with version 8. For the rest it seems to me that it is a great program that meets very well and I do not think you are willing to start a new learning curve with another program. This is my humble opinion as a user. I absolutely love DX4Win and have since the day it was released. For my logging needs it is totally functional. I agree with Tim K4TK. DX4WIN is an old school DXer's logging program and it suits my needs very well. Manual LoTW import/export and WSJT-X import are only a few mouse clicks and take less than a minute. Having said that, it would be nice to know that Paul has a plan for the future when he wants to (or needs to) bow out. On a very different note - I would like to see a similar program for the Mac OS.
