That sounds like you do not have enough audio drive.
You *must* have an indication of 4 bars on the ALC meter with the 5th
bar flickering.
The K3 power control depends on having sufficient audio - it is
different than other transceivers, so ignore the normal advice found on

I use the Signalink USB ,some use their computer sound card while others
use rig blasters and other sound cards. Just remember to get the volume
settings adjusted right and don't over power. I work the world on 25 watts.

I also use HRD / DM780. It works fine for me. Initially, v6 was a little
shaky but they've smoothed it out pretty well. I use it more now than I did
with my FT-857D.
I hope Keith is right and they incorporate WSJT into it. I've been using

Been trying to decode PSK 31 the past 2 nights with no success. I received my
K3 2 days ago and I've set the mode to Data plus pushed the decode button on
the right and selected PSK 31. But for some reason when I go to the 14,070 on
20 meters it will not decode the PSK. Perhaps there is a

succeed in getting Fldigi to recognize my K3. I first tried it using the
hamlib method but could not get it to work. Then I tried the RigCat
approach with the special downloaded file for the K3, and this did work. I

I think it covers every single digital mode DM780 does.
It's small, it's fast, and it's easy to setup and customize.

Make sure you've updated to the latest beta firmware (3.06).. Then hold
DISP to get the ALC display. Set power to 15W or so (or 10 if you have
the K3/10). Adjust the LINE knob (right of the RX RF Gain knob) until
the bars reach teh frist big ALC bar, #5.

I have had very good luck with the Rascal interface. Got the kit and picked
one that supplied an 8 pin mike connector. Wired up to be compatible to my
mike wiring. I am also using MixW2 - well worth the $50!- MixW2 controls
bands, frequency and puts the data in the mini (big enough for me) log.
Although you could build one that would work, I have a RigBlaster
/nomic. Pretty much plug and play - small, simple, travels real well
and works fine with Digipan or any of the popular PSK RTTY, etc
program. And you can drop it and even step on it (don't ask) and it
keeps on working!

overlook the Ham Radio Deluxe suite - You can have just PSK31 (PSK31
Deluxe -the 'SuperBrowser' is a neat feature), or go for the full blown K2
