I have my K1 for sale. It has 4 bands (40, 30, 20, 17), noise blanker,
internal battery, and antenna tuner. All manuals also included. Works
perfectly -- just too many rigs.

Folks:
I'm gonna be out of town for a few days (returning Thursday night). So, in
order to try to second-guess some queries about the (proposed) SMD version
of the K6XX CW Tuning Indicator, I've placed the PDF of my 1st draft of the
PC board on my web site at:

Greetings:
For those who might still be building the K6XX Visible CW Tuning Indicator
using the PC board I offer, IF you've not yet ordered your parts, consider
replacing the originally specified Vishay trimpot with a Bourns 1/4 SQ.
12-turn device (Mouser 652-3266P-1-103).

Tom,
The SMD kit does sound interesting. Will know if I can
do it after I finish the Micro908 kit without major
pain... There was a column in one of the old QRP that
was a Hints Kinks cartoon, that had some great
tricks for holding the SMD components down for
soldering. Not sure if those are

When the K2 sees a bit more collector voltage, you have two things going for
you.
with more voltrage available, it takes less current for the same power (E x
I=W).
Also, with a bit more collector voltage, the PA is a bit more efficient,
requiring a bit less current for the same output power.
I have a KAT100 atu surplus to requirements and for sale. If anyone in the
UK or possibly EU is interested, maybe they would contact me off list.

I have had excellent results from a 'stealth' antenna that consisted of thin
white wire running the top of the wall of the apartment. Yes, if you can get
outdoors, all the better. I used the thin white insulated wire sold by Radio
Shack. The white insulation matched the apartment white walls.
Hello,
Since I moved back in June I have been working on my antenna in my limited
spare time.
I am installing a ground mounted Butternut HF9V and I am doing extensive SWR
testing.

I agree with all of Ron's advice in this excellent post. Antennas don't have to
be perfect to
work.
