It is more of business-related decision. If you have sensitive business related information stored within your network, you definitely need a good firewall irrespective of size of your network. For example, Checkpoint, Netscreen, etc.

allow u to disable incoming traffic.
If you are using Squid on Linux, then u already
have a full featured firewall sitting there!!!

Sorry if I did not make myself clear, but the
combination of Linux and Squid does make a good
firewall. Squid with its Controls and Linux with its
variety of features, including
iptables/ipchains/netfilter.
