Re: [Flightgear-devel] Freeglut and game mode
From your description, it looks like the --enable-game-mode works with the debian freeglut3 package due to a debian specific patch. Just verified with freeglut3 and freeglut3-dev/2.2.0-8, it still works as expected here on a Debian system with the CVS flightgear, i.e., this is not some breakage due to some recent FG change. I am not using the CVS freeglut, relying on the Debian packages. I vaguely remember that something like you describe did happen with fgfs 0.9.8, and that some change to the FGFS code was made to make the game mode option work again. While I am sure that you are using the latest CVS code, maybe that will give some clue to the nature of the breakage of freeglut. You can apply the Debian patch over the baseline freeglut 2.2.0 of Fedora Core, or maybe use the alien tool to convert the debian package for use with that Fedora system, in case you don't like unfree libs. [Flightgear-devel] Freeglut and game mode
I have an application here where I need (a) to build with glut/freeglut and (b) I need to go full screen with no window decorations or portions of the desktop visible. (a) I need to run this on a multiheaded system and SDL completely blanks and locks out the second display when you run fullscreen. (b) this is for a full cockpit flight simulator so the only thing I want to see in the display monitors is the FG imagery. In the past with Debin and Glut, specifying --enable-game-mode has always worked for me as expected. But now I'm trying to do the same thing with freeglut-2.2.0 and Fedora Core 4. No matter what --geometry=WxH and --bpp=D values I specify, I always get a 640x480 window with a window title and a portion of the desktop visible. Is gamemode just broken in freeglut-2.2.0? Has anyone had this working with freeglut? I would have thought we would get a lot of complaints if something this basic didn't work? I always thought that this was a well known limitation of gamemode in FG, so never asked. Did always get 640x480 so I'm using fullscreen-mode now. Re: [Flightgear-devel] Freeglut and game mode
Is gamemode just broken in freeglut-2.2.0? Yes. Has anyone had this working with freeglut? Once upon a time; but not for a year or more. I would have thought we would get a lot of complaints if something this basic didn't work? I'm pretty sure I did whine about it here a year or so ago; I know I did on IRC. -c ___ Flightgear-devel mailing list Flightgear-devel@flightgear.org http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-devel 2f585eeea02e2c79d7b1d8c4963bae2d
