Hi Phil,

you're wife solved the problem. From
Thankfully, most of the keyboards I've seen have had obviously placed mute
keys as well, and my laptop, you actually have to push the volume
slider in to mute.
A far more serious problem I've had is when something like Windows media
player decides to randomly mute the computer for no
As I have a del d630 laptop, unfortunately the death key is right next
to the power' button.
Now isn't that nice!
*sighs deeply*
Volume buttons are in the same row where the power and mute buttons are,
far left hand corner above the keyboard.

one thing I like about this toshiba is the power button is on the top left.
The next 2 buttons are set for different security and configuration options.
Due to power programs and other things being inaccessible I have managed to
totally remove most of the software that controls these buttons so

Hmmm, odd.
I've got power saver on there myself, and actually make use of it on various

I don't recognize the other utilities you mention though.
Then again, sinse I bought that laptop directly from Dolphin, it's entirely
possible they removed such things.
Beware the Grue!
well the power savers in everything around a10 and earlier were semi accessible
although a bit tricky.
If you had anything before the satelite a10 you had a control panel in windows.

for identification in case I ever hit it by mistake! Thanks for the heads up!
