Yes, I have PORTDIR_OVERLAY defined, but this doesn't really address my question. In particular, I had some difficulty installing the patch from a gentoo maintainer: # ebuild gnome-panel-2.4.0-r2.ebuild unpack !!! aux_get(): ebuild for '/gnome-panel-2.4.0-r2' does not exist at: !!!
