I might imagine it was because of the movies recently made or coming soon;
the original PP is surely out of copyright (author death + 75 yrs if IRC)
Perhaps there is some sort of appeal process?

I understand wy ebay say's it is spam..
You sell regency style dresses and not a dress from the movie.
And the dress is also not from Jane Austen.
But you could say Jane Austen style in the discription of the item.
But it is a bit weird that they are sending this now.
It happends so often that

Probably people report suspect cases if they see them, but that means
the enforcement is very random. There are many examples of bad keywords
on eBay!
One of my favorite titles I saw on eBay was Medieval Amish
I'm guessing the listing would have been fine six months ago,
but now with the movie coming out it has become a brand name. Funny
thing about celebrity names and fashion - I know exactly what Madonna
boots are, or a Jackie-O pillbox. People's names become synonymous
with a style. For

Good question. I know they make sergers, but evidently they make other
sewing machines as well as other industrial equipment.
I THINK they may have gotten into the domestic machine market after
their beginnings in industrial machines.
Anybody know?

This is really odd! Maybe it's because you have Jane Austin and Pride and
Prejudice together? Maybe if it was one or the other, or said Jane Austin
style dress or era dress? I don't know...I've never seen anything like
this. I would write to them right away and find out what the deal is.
The proposed website for our Renaissance music group still hasn't got off the
ground, but you can now see a couple of photos of me in costume on the Sealed
Knot Living History Group website http://livinghistorygroup.co.uk/musicians.htm

I think the basic problem is that the words were in the TITLE of the
auction.
If you put similar words and phrases in a conversational manner in the
description of the items, I think you would be okay.
I think the main problem is they are trying to make the search results (for
people who

How did people work it out when selling Titanic era dresses?
If someone was a fan of a period movie, they might search on the
movie title to see what merchandise was available. They might not
have thought about a repro gown until seeing it come up in the
search.
Why shouldn't

Cool! I don't know about the correctness of the forehead cloth or not.
Think I am remembering correctly- Fynn Morryson states that women on the
continent wore forehead cloths out and about where as English women
did not...

Rebecca,
I always suggest The Embroidery Stitch Bible by Betty Barnden, ISBN
