I understand that it does not make sense for you to provide
distribution specific packages (i.e. rpms for SuSE, RedHat
and the like or debs for Debian based Distros).
However, I consider it to be a good idea to make
future hplip versions compatible with checkinstall. Up to now,
any hplip
since my problem hasn't been solved yet, I thought to repeat
my request for help. My latest email to the list is below.
If anyone has further suggestions, I would like to hear them.

Thanks for your response... The OfficeJet 7310 does support duplex ADF scanning. I have been able to scan via the ADF in duplex through the HP Director software with no problems on a separate machine.
