Dear List
I am to be supplied with a new PC to assist with my studies.
I currently have a Pentium 3.06 with 1 GB Ram running XP Pro and Jaws 8.
This is 6 years old and has become very unstable despite a number of

I install jaws 8 over jaws 7 and wanted to return to jaws 7 so I uninstalled
jaws 8. I kept shared components but the hot key for jaws 8 is still there.
When I unload jaws 7 and use the hot key alt ctrl j jaws 8 still comes up.
How can I solve this.
Insert and f does give the column width and height. But, I don't understand
what units are used. I find that the column width read from the menu
bar/format menu give the same in different units. Can someone tell me about
the units used for column width?

Wow! I had similar problems using JAWS 3.7 and Windows ME. I think by
today's standards, you will hardly receive this message now due to better
handling of sound devices I think. Can't help you on the actual problem, but
it's just amazing that there are some folks on here using old technology.
Estelita,
With the older jaws I think you need to go into the configuration
manager by pressing insert F2.
Then go to alt S for settings. Go to Synthesizor, then make sure that
allow wav files is checked. Go to OK and save.

I think you should do it this way.
For your jaws 7 the hot key should be control, alt, 7 .
For 8 it should be control,alt 8.
That is how I have mine set up as.
But that's my thoughts on it.

different types of measurements in Excel.

In both JAWS 7.x and 8.x, Insert+F1 does not provide any information about
column width. It appears that in JAWS 7.x, Insert+F includes info on the
size of the cell, and in JAWS 8.x the command is Insert+F+F for this same
info.
