If you use firefox and greasemonkey, there is a script to toggle the
star and characters,
This works in the folling way
banks and credit cards are not being filled in

I almost always use the copy and paste method. Some of my passwords are
quite long especially what I use for FTP access to the server. Actually I
do not even know it as the thing is 40 characters long.
