At the very bottom of the Marriage Information name under the section
Married Names. You show which name you wish to use for a married name for
a woman.
Some women choose to retain their maiden name after marriage or use a
hyphenated name, so this feature allows for that.

The woman is always entered in Legacy using her maiden name. Then Legacy by
default will show her husband's last name as her married name unless you
change it to be something different.

Yes I followed instructions per the website regarding Vista installation. I had
a second Legacy folder which I deleted - must have been left over from ver 6. I
use AVG. The only software that has been installed recently is Microsoft

I have noticed that before the window goes dark and the icons are missing some
of my preferences have been changed in the customize window. For example the
start up family, names in uppercase, chr vs bap etc. I don't know if that means
anything. It seems that Legacy is not saving my preferences
I am having a similar but more serious problem. All but one or two icons will
disappear in familly and other views. Also the colors change with one being
black so that you can only see the names when they are highlighted which
changes the font color to white. No data appears to be effected. I
Did you install Legacy to the default c:\Legacy folder as required on Vista?
What security software are you running?

A GEDCOM is only a text file and as such is independent of the o/s. More
important is to ensure that the type of GEDCOM which you create is acceptable
to the program which will read it.

That's not true. I have some other programs which want to be installed to

I've just run a check/repair, and the only error I had was
- Surname (Pelton) for the Individual in RIN 406 doesn't match the Alternate
Name. Individual Surname=Pelton, IDNR=64, Soundex=P435, Alternate
Surname=Pelton, IDNR=556, Soundex=P435. Changing Alternate to match Individual
Record

vacation this summer, attaching them to all the people in the photos.
I noticed that 3 of my images (these have been there a while; not new) had -
next to them. Looked at Help, and it says they have a different path than
People I've talked to who are using Win7 are raving about it. Word is that
Legacy runs superb on Win7.

Shawn Mills. It is the 'bible' which Legacy's sourcewriter is based
on. A lot of us have it, and we just got tired of writing out the
title so it gradually got shortened to EE.

the download quits in the middle of it and then it tells me I have to
download from the website. When I try to download from the servers on the
site, the download again stalls. Can someone help or do you have any ideas.
