Rather than leave Legacy to throw up an 'unknown' value I always try to create an identity with as much information as I can enter. It's surprising how much detail you may have for a person without knowing their name. From various sources you may know approx dates, residence, religion,

Henry, Personally I delete a person if I have no detail reagrding that person and if I do not know a first name or a surname I leave the field blank as I do not like having Unknown or other symbols scattered around my web pages. I always use prefixes for names so one can have Miss Mary or Mr
