Ian and everyone,
There has been a change at BING maps who supply the maps (confirmed on
the Legacy Test list)
Mapping is now broken until we get an update to Legacy.
There is no way of knowing how long this will be

Thankfully I have maps still active for the Master Place List. (After importing
a GEDCOM months ago I am still sorting through 5,000 plus locations and am
downs to 3,500 now.)
As for ‘add Google Maps’, with software development it is not a matter of
‘moving’ as which maps are part of the
I do hope that the update will apply to all versions of Legacy

Well, I reported less than two hours ago (well after Cathy's note below)
that I had maps in Legacy, including the Master Locations List. As of now, I
no longer have maps. The change was sudden, from having maps to just a blank
white space where the map should be displaying throughout Legacy.

Scott,
I suggest you contact Support. I would need a lot more
information/access to your file, to troubleshoot this.

I know the adoptees parents.
Have entered both sets of parents into legacy.

normally you enter the birth name and put other names in AKAs and also

When children are adopted as babes, some use the adopted name as the

I seriously doubt that the maps change is at all related to the

Who said anything about 'removing' the maps? If there is a change in licensing
of map use (perhaps from Bing to Google) that would mean the end of one
connection and the beginning (after coding changes) of a new connection.

I already often use Google Maps in Legacy, but on three screens:
One with Legacy and the second with Google Maps open.
And on the third, I've excel where I convert the usual standard decimal
coordinates to the non-standard string of numbers used in Legacy.
And then copy and paste.
Wish I could do
