Do you presume all second marriages emanate from marriages that ended in
divorce? I would not want to capture this data due to the highly inaccurate
and sloppy record keeping that is available to us searchers. Could lead to
highly flawed conclusions.
Just a thought.

Recently someone commented on the idea of creating a Cemetery Event
because there is no way to print Burial Event pictures in any Legacy
reports. Horrors! I am about 90% done in inputting pictures from a
marathon gravestone photographing trip, needless to say, all put into the
Burial events.
I just tested the Family Group Sheet and the burial picture was included
there when I turned on the option for event pictures in the Include tab
of the report options screen. I suggest you experiment with other reports.

Just FYI --
I just did a quickie check with a birth picture set to preferred (and made
sure the report options were set to print the pictures). I did family
group sheet, individual report, descendant and descendant narrative and
ancestor reports in v.6. The family group sheet was the

Geoff,
This would be a good topic for Legacy News.
What is picture reduction width? I haven't found any explanation in the Help

matching size quality of images rather than random-size scanned images

Geoff,
Please check a Descendant Narrative with embedded pictures saved as RTF for
Asa Brown using the sample file and see if you get size 6 font for some of
Asa's event notes after the census image. I'm using Word 2000 and Windows XP
on this computer. Online update, no USR files deleted (yet.)
Some Legacy customers like links for easy reference to event pictures. I
don't add event pictures to real files *unless* they can be printed a useful
size in a Legacy Narrative. Source pictures in endnotes can be a different
size than report pictures but they don't replace pictures beside the
As I get this I can have the burial pictures only if I print in a series
of family group sheets instead of a narrative, not what I wanted to do. I
know if I get the narrative into Word (via PDF) I can paste the photos in,
but that makes this a big item for the wish list for me.

I'll let the original poster answer this question, but I just wanted to
add that I have found using two monitors attached to the same computer
very helpful (I haven't seen just what Legacy is doing with them). It's
just like expanding your desktop. I take digital photographs of

I don't, but somewhere along the various transfers from other programs

they ended in divorce. What I really want is a way to do a global
change on those. I know of about ten divorces in my ancestry. I

you create an Alternate Burial Event and then switch it with the basic

Hi all,
With the new release, I am thinking about taking the plunge and
upgrading from Version 5 Deluxe. I wonder how many of you who hated
the cartoony look have gotten used to the icons and the way the
software handles?

Hi Susan,
I for one much prefer the delux version 6 to that of version 5 (even though

One thin you might want to do:
Install V. 5 in a new location. Then install V. 6 in the default location.
As there won't be many if any more updates to V. 5, this should solve your
streamlined approach for V. 6.
As for the Cartoony look, I never had a problem with it. I adapted fine

Database Conversion to a new format - make a backup.
Good idea.
By the way, is this the end of v5 and v6 being able to share the same file?

We are changing the world of genealogy!
We won't be doing any more work on v5 but we did a new v5 build yesterday that
reads the new v6 family files. We wanted users of v5 and v6 to be able to share
files.

G'day! I've just downloaded the latest version of Legacy yet I haven't had
a chance to try things out but it's gotta be good, Mate! In Reports I
have Report language English US and have tried to change it to English -

Picture Tree has picture borders without an option like other Legacy
printouts. Top row has smaller pictures when set for four generations but
wrapping wide names changed to an option for same size pictures. Names from
the picture tree are not included in a Legacy book index.
