I do not think that putting a surname in brackets is a goof idea for
unknown surnames. If you put a surname in the brackets it might be
mistaken by someone as Maybe it's Smith (or whatever name you have...).

If I do not know the last name of a wife (Berthia), but know the
husband's full name (Samuel Ackley), then I enter the wife as:

If you mean Privacy Brackets so they don't print in reports but are
there in Legacy to help identify unknowns

I do not use Miss as it can be misleading, says very specifically that the
individual had no previous marriages. I would suggest the term Ms. for

have reviewed the term Infant boy/girl is used. I
