Where can I get Mainframe on Linux training???
Jenu: Linux is Linux, so for the most part any Linux education will
do. IBM offers over 40 Linux courses as well as some Linux mainframe
specific courses. http://ibm.com/training/spotlight/linux/

Actually, yesterday was the first time I used the HMC console as the IPL
console. First IPL of z/VM 4.3 and the config on the 2074 was wrong so
I completed IPL on the HMC including enabling the address on the 2074.

We suffered a system crash last week, on a Multiprise 3000,
due to an unexpected OS/2 dump and reboot. When the system
was restarted, our Linux image hung in the boot fsck step, which
apparently failed due to an excessive number of parallel fsck's
being attempted. I brought up the CD-ROM image,

May I ask what led up to this calamity? Were you running any
applications under OS/2? Are you using lots of those little emulated
device drivers
Our MP3000 systems have been extremely reliable, in general,
staying up for months at a time. However, we have had three
unexpected OS/2 reboots this year on one system, two with
OS/2 dumps produced, which IBM has collected and sent off
to be analyzed. The January dump analysis was

And I don't think VMware is at all to blame.
I *suspect* that virtualization of Pentium is hard to do.
zSeries has more than three decades of hardware and software
adjusting for each other to do virtualization very efficiently.
I use VMware all the time. Not continuously
Just a heads up, in case you're planning to build with the may2002 code drop, and want
to include this patch:
Here's what I get when I apply the fix for the IUCV initialization delay problem on

I've no luck in searching for Domino to run on an S/390 Linux virtual
machine. Does anyone have information on whether there is a Domino
platform available to run there?

Matt,
This topic comes up from time to time. Although IBM ran a survey
sometime back, I never heard whether they had any serious intent to port
Domino to L/390. If someone knows what is up IBM's sleeve, I would love
to hear their answer.

I have the RH7.2 Enigma that I recently installed, running

I have a perl CGI that provides some uptime HTML output to my

Hi Matt,
Domino for Linux/390 is not available...yet. We've heard only that
something might be available next year. Others on this list will no doubt
provide some more details for you. In the meantime the recommended course
of action is to express your interest to IBM-Lotus. The more customers
Paul,
SuSE ships the following test.pl CGI script. If this works, then the
problem is in your script. If the script doesn't work, then it's probably
in your Apache configuration files. The permissions on this file are as
follows:
~ ls -l /usr/local/httpd/cgi-bin/test.pl
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root
ok, I set up a symlink. when i started the program it came up with the same
error:
unable to dlopen /usr/lib/sasl/libdigestmd5.so: libcrypto.so.2: cannot load
shared object file: No such file or directory
The file libdigestmd5.so is available.
