Are you running on a z990 under VM? Then you should check if

If not, you should first check if you have installed
This appears to be interesting. It is a new OS. It will have a Linux

The last time I heard personality in this context was with Workplace OS. That

Is the \n or a newline getting written to order and instorder files? If
it's the former, that may be the problem. I just split it into two

I also battled with this and ended up writing a script (that also copies

Hi,
I have a z890 with a OSA Express 1000BASE-T card.
How should I define this card in order to install SLES8.
The card is currently defined as:
CHPID PATH=(CSS(0),02),SHARED,*
PARTITION=((LINTST,PROD,TEST),(=)),TYPE=OSE,*
Actually since we will have multiple websphere systems running, that's not
a bad idea. One stop log shopping,

When you export a samba share, since the desktops use wins, we've been
seeing that desktops cannot resolve the dns name if it isn't in the wins
server but if you go with the ip address (ie \\calhoun doesn't work but
\\123.456.789.001 does) - do you have to register this with a primary wins
server

All ready done... and solved.
This looks like a mis-match between the
module and the kernel itself.
Yes.
Problem solved: I neglected to tell wget to use the LAN proxy server; I
couldn't tell from wget's messages that it wasn't reaching the suse web
site.
Thank you all of you for your help.

The configuration file of the DHCP server is the same

Is the client on the same subnet as the DHCP server? Or is the DHCP

When doing a network install of SLES9 the YaST install hangs at the install

ideas?

I can confirm what Dennis has already said.
On SLES8 we use client dhcpcd and option -B (upper case) - will not work
without it.

It's very close to the same Rexx.
Object REXX will run both the classic REXX format and the object format, in
the same exec even.
