To hell with disapproval, I have a lap harp a bit too big to hold without
support. One harp maker has a product they nickname the harp bra, a couple
of cloth cups and some velcro straps. At $25 I thought it too much, so I
went to K-Mart and got a nice red satin 32B bra for $2.95 (took my wife, so
I wonder if there are any others out there who partake
in other fora at cs.dartmouth.edu.
I also dabble in the northumbrian small-pipes forum.
What other discussion groups are there, I wonder?
What is dartmouth.edu anyway? It appears to exist
specifically to help me with my hobbies. Is there a

Dear List,
while fully aware, that new editions of lute music take time, are nowadays

Hi Goran, all,
Since you ask: I have been trying to prepare a project to publish the
Cherbury lute book in DVD format for a while now with mixed success. On the
plus side, the Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge - which hold the MS - is
very encouraging. They not only agreed to have the book
Dear lutenists,
(Please do not read more, if you are insulted by the critics
of USA tortures in Iraq!)
I am really sorry to write about politics here, but to me the
previous news about the humiliating torturing of prisoners in
Iraq by the USA soldiers are really hard to hear! And I really

I actually am in contact with someone doing an edition of
the Weymis lute book!!! I think this is for a well

The Weymis has some pretty music, but is full of errors
and hard to read bits.

Hi Alain and lute world,
I've ordered the book a while ago and I was told it would be in
preperation and should be published within the next months. Okay -
now nearly a year passed and nothing happend. Mails to complain were
answered I would get my copy unasked when it's ready.

Dear Wayne and all,
It is very difficult to transcribe the Wemyss directly for guitar for
two reasons:
1) the low pitch of the pieces.
2) the friendly original keys for the lute but very not friendly for
the guitar
This can be solved transporting the music partially.
To see two samples:

Hello Guys, I see political matters are entering this

I am even more sorry of my un-appropriate postings, but all those

Hello all,
I need to bring my theorbo (a big one) to the Berkeley Festival this
summer. Can anyone give me some advice for flying with one of these
things?
Which airlines are the most instrument friendly (within US)?
Gate check?
Pay extra for oversize luggage?
The theorbo is insured, but should
