I was just thinking that if beef can sound leaner and brighter (or clearer),
while sheep might sound warmer and fuller, it sounds as though beef gut is
situated somewhere in between sheep gut and some synthetics, where synthetics
might be felst as colder and more transistor-like, while sheep

regularly; it does seem to protect my Baroque lute. I did not treat my
Renaissance lute at the outset, and it is quite marked by my little
finger (due to acidity, no doubt).

button at the front end occasionally pops out!
I am using a red suede leather terminated guitar strap, but as the
strap tends to slip off the shoulder, I have sown rubber undercarpet

I am glad this may be a help, but I see you have far more
experience of nylon strings than I have, so you may not come to quite
the same conclusions as I did.

I wonder whether the Adario string was titanium T2 nylon with purple
haze? If so it might have
on one or more theorbo
basses about halfway along the string. By pushing the string with
your
thumb you can check which bass it's resting on as well.
