Yes, uninstalled all 2.3.0 pre-release version before trying to install LyX. I think the dialog asks whether I want to use LaTeX and asks me to provide the location of latex.exe manually. I think I never saw that before. I'll look more closely at it and provide a screenshot in an hour or so
