error compiling 1.3.2

2003-08-20 Thread Nirmal Govind
Hi.. I tried compiling 1.3.2 for the first time last night (I was using 1.3.1 till now) and the compile failed with the following error: In file included from ../../src/buffer.h:28, from insetbib.C:17: ../../src/paragraph.h:23:21: changes.h: No such file or directory In file

His patch is broken, or you didn't apply it properly Think it may be the former cos I checked the code and it does include a file called changes.h which Angus pointed out doesn't exist in the 1.3.2 source.. so missing file I guess.. I've emailed Johnathan... Thanks, nirmal

behavior of Ctrl + Right Arrow

2003-08-19 Thread Nirmal Govind
Hi.. when a math expression is present on a line, if I use Ctrl+Right Arrow just before the word that precedes the math expression, to skip to the beginning of the math expression, the cursor skips the math expression and stops at the beginning of the first non-math-expression word that it finds.

Abstract as 1-col in a 2-col paper

2003-08-14 Thread Nirmal Govind
Hi.. I'm writing a paper using the article class. It's in the 2-column format. However the abstract and KEYWORDS need to be in a single column, centered on the page. How can I do this? Thanks, nirmal

Feature Request - converting to a single LaTeX file

2003-07-31 Thread Nirmal Govind
This request is based on experiences with trying to send LaTeX files generated by LyX to other pure LaTeX users and a conference that required a single LaTeX file which had everything in it.. So the request is to have LyX convert the LyX document to a .tex file which would have the .eps figures,

Generating darker fonts for printing

2003-07-28 Thread Nirmal Govind
Hi.. I wrote up a short document on how one can configure the metafont modes to generate darker fonts for printed output... this is useful when printing documents written in certain fonts (especially CM) to low resolution printers where the output may be a little too light.. I'd promised to write

I see no problems here with Thanks Lars.. it looks like the problem was due to some file in Qt 3.1.2 .. it compiled successfully with Qt 3.0.7... I'm pretty sure I compiled Qt 3.1.2 with the same gcc version but I'm not 100% sure.. Thanks, nirmal

slow response to keystrokes

I just compiled the latest cvs version and the response to keystrokes is really slow in the editor.. any setting that I need to change to get rid of this behavior? I'm using Qt 3.0.7 on a Debian ppc machine.. Thanks, nirmal

The kernel is currently being ripped apart. Slow keystokes are just one visible result. Do not use current cvs for real work. Aah I see.. thanks Angus.. nirmal
