I'd just like to note that I really like this idea, and would really love to see it happen --- I tried to use Jupyter Notebook a while back, but got bogged down for various reasons, and having its functionalities as a stand-alone desktop app which would make nice PDFs would suit my needs quite

I've asked before, and I'd really like to see direct support for pandoc in File | Open/Save or (Import/Export) whatever makes sense --- just install pandoc if it's not available and allow one to directly convert stuff into and out of LyX. I'd be fine w/ a separate menu or menu entry for pandoc

I tried the two installers on a pretty fresh Windows 10 reinstall --- the bundle one wasn't able to get the MikTeX install going (known problem?) The other worked fine in the absence of a TeX installation and let me launch the program (w/ suitable warnings about not being able to compile
