Put the picture in a figure float (or wrap float), put the cursor in the
float's caption box, and Insert > Label.
1- add float figure.
2- add latex code by Ctrl+L , then past your tikz code inside it.

I am using LyX 2.0.0, and I am wondering if I am doing something wrong, as I
do not get instant preview working for the attached lyx file which contains
a tikz graph wrapped in instant preview.
Is it a problem on my side? (instant preview is enabled in the settings.)
