I also use LyX on Mepis. 1.3.4 is the latest LyX which is on the official apt repositories. However, I've downloaded the 1.3.5-2 .rpm package, used alien to convert it to a .deb package, and then installed it just fine that way. So 1.3.5 is easily done on Mepis. Make sure that ImageMagick
