Before upgrading to Mint Serena, I had the same configuration and did

I can confirm that you do not need to do anything to install Qt (at
least not if you installed LyX from a .deb file; I've never built it
myself).

You can get the Qt version used by LyX from Help > About LyX... >
Version, at least as of 2.2.3. I think it was there in 2.2.2 as well; if
not, it's definitely on the Build Info tab.

It might be useful to know whether you installed one of Liv's .deb
files, built from scratch or got LyX some other way. Also, which desktop
environment (Cinnamon, MATE, KDE, Xfce) do you use?

Cheers,
Paul

Presumably, the package manager does this for you.

Just so I understand. The problem is that one of LyX's menus just stays
there? Even though you are not using it?

If so, then that looks like a problem with Qt. LyX does not control
these sorts of menu actions by itself, but delegates them to Qt.

Qt Version (compile-time): 5.7.1

Debian Stretch: up to date.

Not a biggie

Just a thought about the scrollbar on the right and side of the
document window. It doesn't show till I hit F7 to spellcheck the
document, or not, because that brings up the scrollbar.

This has been the case for months, and because I knew that work around
used it, thinking that at some point it would be corrected?

Stretch is not that far from stable and still doesn't work on my
system. Possibly a new default?

Just wondered?

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for this report. I can't reproduce on Ubuntu and with LyX 2.2.2
or with 2.3dev.

Does anyone else see the same problem?

Scott

Not on Mint (with any version of LyX through 2.2.3).

Liviu, will you have time to update the PPA any time soon?

Ah indeed. In case anyone is curious this is set here:

development/Win32/packaging/installer/setup/configure.nsh

The 120 was introduced at d964457d.

Uwe, why do we use a different preference for \screen_zoom on Windows
than the global default of 150?
