Which distribution to go with, is I believe, a matter of personal

I have worked with two personally, Slackware and Red Hat. The version

Ok, I've solved the rc.local problem, my system works fine,

On to some on-topic IP Masq. stuff. Everything seemed to

OK, here's my question: For this application - a router box with IP MASQ
capabilities, which distribution should I start with.
I hope I'm not boring everyone on the list with this, But...
the intro to TrinityOS goes over this in good detail. Give it a look!
ICQ works fine for me (RH5.1)
ICQ settings:
-I'm using a permanent connection
-I am behind a firewall

achieve full functionality of ICQ behind a Masq box, is to install a SOCKS5
proxy server on your Masq firewall. Then you can tell ICQ that you have a
SOCKS5 proxy server and it will work 100%. I was pointed to this answer

You can get 100% functionality without that. Forward a set

Actually these are two seperate problems...
1) You are attempting to execute ipfwadm during the boot process from within
rc.local.
While there is nothing wrong with this, the full path to the program MUST be
specified.
Normally this shell script gets executed BEFORE search paths are set...

So, it must be when sendmail tried to route the message from there, that
something went wrong. Check the log file for the reason.

Exactly how would one go about doing that?

You can use ipautofw for that - check out http://masqapps.home.ml.org,
it's explained there. I prefer the SOCKS5 solution tho.
