Re: [MCN-L] email marketing software
We have been using PatronManager for 8-9 years. They use Saleforce and just migrated everyone from their proprietary mail system to MyEmma. Lots of things I like about PatronManager but MyEmma doesn't have a UI a particularly like. The email builder is fine, it's the search and navigation through their pages that is clunky. I fully hope them to improve over time however. Re: [MCN-L] THoughts about App vs. Responsive Web site?
Hi Floyd, We are about to launch (in December) our first cell phone tour of an exhibition. In researching the options, we decided that creating a web-based app was the best solution for us. Since the cell phone tour is for an exhibition on view for a limited time, we did not see how we could communicate the value of downloading an app to their phones. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, a traditional app would not be as accessible to as many visitors, as many of the 'affordable' options are for iPhones only. The vendor we selected also has a dial-in feature for visitors without smartphones. Since our audience has a significant older population, this was not an insignificant consideration. Hope this is helpful. HI Kevin, The Museum at FIT has worked with Synthescape. They produced this virtual tour of our last exhibition Fashion Underground: The World of Susanne Bartsch. http://fit.synthescape.com/ I cannot recommend them highly enough. Great product and super nice people to work with. They can also do much more than what they did with us for that exhibition. They can also integrate 3/d images of objects as well as video and music. We are about to launch this project where they shot 360 degree views of eight objects that are on view in our current exhbition Fairy Tale Fashion. http://ftf.synthescape.com/ But check out their website for other projects. http://synthescape.com/ Good luck! -- Tamsen Young Museum Digital Media and Strategic Initiatives Manager The Museum at FIT New York City 212.217.4547 www.fitnyc.edu/museum Visit our collections online <http://fashionmuseum.fitnyc.edu/> | Find us on Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/TheMuseumAtFIT> | Twitter <https://twitter.com/museumatFIT> | Instagram <https://instagram.com/museumatfit/> <https://twitter.com/museumatFIT> On Tue, Feb 23, 2016 at 4:27 PM, Kevin Conley <kcon...@asianart.org> wrote: > We are in the planning stages for an exhibition that includes artifacts > excavated from a tomb. It's now all done, and available at https://www.mail-archive.com/mcn-l%40mcn.edu/ and it has a pretty great advanced search, too (start with a simple search and then it'll offer more options). The messages by date interface only shows the most recent 3000 or so messages, but try the advanced search, and you'll see that (thanks to Rob!) the messages go back to 1996 ... the very beginning of MCN-L. Check it out: https://www.mail-archive.com/mcn-l%40mcn.edu/msg09558.html You might also, with crafty advanced searching, see that a handful of messages are erroneously time-stamped in 1970, the beginning of Unix time (thank your system admin if this never happened at your employer).
