Re: [MCN-L] email marketing software

2017-12-01 Thread Tamsen Young
We have been using PatronManager for 8-9 years. They use Saleforce and just
migrated everyone from their proprietary mail system to MyEmma. Lots of
things I like about PatronManager but MyEmma doesn't have a UI a
particularly like. The email builder is fine, it's the search and
navigation through their pages that is clunky. I fully hope them to improve
over time however.

Best,
Tamsen

Re: [MCN-L] email marketing software

2017-06-06 Thread Heather Hart
Hey Christina,

To chime in here, I think it really depends on what Mailchimp isn't doing for
you right now and what your overall landscape looks like. I think Campaign
Monitor is a great choice if you have a healthy budget and Salesforce
integration is important to you but it does lack some of the most advanced
automation features that you would get from an enterprise type system. We are
working on Mautic but I think it still needs 6-9 months before it's mature
enough for a casual user. The UI is good but we are still working through a lot
of bugs. Feel free to give me a call if you want to chat offline.

Since this thread started, MailChimp has started providing automation as part
of their free plan.

FWIW we’ve therefore now moved back off ConvertKit and into MailChimp - and are
using https://privy.com/ to do some really nice modal / intention based popups.

Have a look at GetResponse. We’re loving it at the Cultural Alliance of
Fairfield County. We went through about four of these systems looking for one
that handled images and texts flexibly and easily - and this handles lists
nicely too. 24/7 chat help is very nice too.

Hi,
I have been thinking about this posting on email marketing solutions. We are
looking to an alternative to MailChimp - we love it, so no knock on the
company. It doesn't quiet meet our needs right now.

John and Heather - anything come out of your research that you can pass on?

Thank you. Christina

Re: [MCN-L] email marketing software

2017-02-24 Thread David Lewis
You asked about email marketing software... Whenever contemplating ANY
computer-techno-related question, again I always look over on TeshSoup -- sure
enough they've got a lot of discussions about email campaign software. Here
are two threads that I liked:

A Few Good Broadcast Email Tools
http://www.techsoup.org/learningcenter/internet/page5935.cfm

ConstantContact vs Vertical response
http://forums.techsoup.org/cs/forums/t/29166.aspx

and then here is some more of my thoughts/comments About Vertical
Response...

We really like Vertical Response. Not only is it FREE! (no strings attached
free), I'm also happy with the great customer service. We have had a couple
minor (but frustrating) issues with importing our existing database and I
talked with their customer service on the phone (a real live person) and they
were fantastic about working through the steps and the problem.

Non-profit accounts get 10,000 free emails each month. Currently we've got
about 2,000 email addresses total thus far in our database. We are starting to
get in the habit of asking our visitors if they'd like to join our mailing list
and so that number is growing (rather rapidly) but still we're not too worried
about maxing out our fee monthly allotment

Like most programs, you can also create segmented lists, and/or target only
specific folks. For example we have a "other Chicago area museum folks" list
-- so theoretically I could include you in our fund-raising event emails, but
not in our mailings where we announce our super-secret plot to over-though
(whomever). or invade (wherever). and like most email tools, creating
the actual email is fairly easy (WYSIWYG - "What You See Is What You Get") and
they have lots of templates for those graphically challenged folks

And lastly where do you sign up you ask? Registering is easy follow the
directions on the link below
http://www.verticalresponse.com/non-profits/

Hi

We use ConvertKit - it does the automation side of things really well, and IMO
the interface is much better than others I’ve seen, including MailChimp. Lots
of integrations with 3rd party systems (“if user does X then do Y”) too. Popup
nag-forms are easy too, if that’s your bag.
