Hi all .
I compile plugins 1.4.2 on my HP-UX 11.00, running Nagios server 1.3 and
2.0.
None is working correctly! Is there any requirements that I have missed?

Marco

Hi Peter,
I followed the steps as explained by you to configure the monitoring and

password. Might be something wrong somewhere I am doing.

There is a new NTray maintenance release,

It hasn't been extensively tested,
but the fixes were very minor. Most people probably don't need this

Hello,
I am using version 1.2. Is there an external command to put a service
into downtime? I am referncing this FAQ:
http://nagios.org/faqs/viewfaq.php?faq_id=80
Last update is 10/2002, so I am thinking it is, just not finding it in the docs.
Thanks!
Uh oh...
Nagios Version(s):
2.x
3.x
How can the faq be written in 2002 and be for versions 2/3?

Is there a way to make Nagios send text messages to a cell phone?
From the FAQ: http://www.nagios.org/faqs/viewfaq.php?faq_id=113expand=falseshowdesc=false
How can I have notifications
sent to an alphanumeric pager?
There are two ways you
can do this.
If your paging company has an email-pager gateway, you can
simply have Nagios send an email message
Cell Phone != Alphanumeric Pager
Lots of cell providers simply don't provide IXO/TAP service.
And, as you point out, e-mailing to an e-mail address is all well and
good unless your report is Core Router Down, then you might find
out about it, several times, after you've repaired it. :-)

Well, if you're just trying to send it via e-mail, you can send it
like any other e-mail message. Nagios basically injects its e-mail
into its local MTA on that box, which is configured however you set
it up (and that's a little outside the scope of this list, but

You'll need to have
Something like this in your contacts.cfg

define contact{

The problem you are having lies *outside* of Nagios. You need to
configure the local system (where Nagios is installed) to properly send

One thing to be careful of, once you get Exchange your Nagios
server properly relaying email to the Internet, is to make sure that
relayed email has

Nope, other than that yast is scary when it breaks things ;)
That should actually be quite easy, I've been using vmplayer

one take on deploying nodes for a distributed/remote nagios setup.
