I put it on my todo-list to download the new version and to run some test f

But as far as I understand, it should be sufficient running it
without asciimode just with the \ctxcatcodes snippet in place to
test if that breaks something.

My use of MetaPost is very simple, I still don’t understand much...
My current and most MP-heavy project so far, fails
I run almost every document with \asciimode, so I can surely test
that aspect, but I'm not using MetaPost a lot these days. I ran a
few projects and it seems to work fine. But that's not what I'd call
extensive testing.
I think compiling the MetaPost manual would be a good test. But on
my mach

I can see how that works, Sreeram, especially the chapter:after to cope
with the chapters ending on an even page. Though I will have to try it
now on a copy of the real document to test it there.
All ten images are different, though, in my case (Chapter1.jpg,
Chapter2.jpg... Chapter10.jpg all
as a ‘bbl’ type file I get a list of publications but the entries are uncomplete. enclosed files: publist-test.tex, test-literaturliste.bbl, publist-test.pdf2.
