Hi Marcin, appears like the vertical spacing is extended when
content of the item exceeds the line height. The behavior is not
restricted to math mode, though I can’t say if there is an
official way to prevent or customize it. If you are desperate to
get around it, maybe put the content in a box of fixed height.

with the old context of current TeXLive it works without
adding additional space.

[NTG-context] XML and Lua/Ctx

2012-11-14 Thread Procházka Lukáš Ing . - Pontex s . r . o .

Hello,

I've read that when Ctx is to process a XML file, the whole XML tree is loaded
first and processed as wanted.

I'd need to process a XML file which represents an Excel workbook saved as .xml.

When working in pure Lua, I'm using Expat library
(http://matthewwild.co.uk/projects/luaexpat/index.html) which allow to create a
parser with callbacks (e.g. StartElement(), StopElement(), CharacterData()...).

It processes the .xml file on-the-go.

However, this solution cannot be used with Ctx as it causes Ctx to crash.

How to access a XML file loaded and parsed from within Ctx via Lua?

I attach a simple Excel XML (for those who are familiar with Excel and don't
refuse using it).

As an example, I'd need process the attached .xml into a simple Lua table:

-- return -- Lua table as a result
{ workbooks =
  { [1] = { name = 1,
-- No more info is necessary so far,
-- I just need to see the way how to access XML elements
  },
[2] = { name = Imp,
  },
[3] = { name = Exp,
  },
[4] = { name = Template,
  },
  }
}

Could anyone experienced kindly present a way how to get such table from the
attached Excel XML file?

TIA.

Best regards,

Lukas

Could this be the problem?

2012-11-14 Thread Pavneet Arora

Hans,

Normally, I do refer first to Martin Vogel's set, but in this case I
just needed a symbol from Roland's set. Do I take it then to mean the
symb-was is not Mk IV compatible?

Thanks.

MkIV uses a different name system for the files which covers symbols
(symb-imp-xxx.mkiv), colors (colo-imp-xxx.mkiv) and typescripts
(type-imp-xxx.mkiv).

[NTG-context] [luatex-plain] loading patterns

2012-11-14 Thread Philipp Gesang
Hi all!

  (I assume this is the appropriate list for
  questions regarding luatex-plain.)

I am trying to enable the Russian hyphenation patterns. The demo
code below works with luatex.fmt but not luatex-plain.fmt (both
from tex live).

More precisely, after loading the hyphenation patterns for, say,
*Latin* I get proper hyphenation. Now when I attempt the same
with *Russian*, nothing is hyphenated. (As lang.patterns(id)
correctly returns the patterns in both cases, I guess something
is missing after updating tex.language.)

Any thoughts? Can someone reproduce this?

[NTG-context] Managing prefixes in section references

2012-11-14 Thread Jean-Philippe Rey
Hi all,

I am trying to convince \in to build up a full reference (chapter
number.section number) but can not work it out.

Here is my minimal example :

% ConTeXt 2012.11.08 MKIV

\setuphead[section][sectionsegments=section]
\setupreferencestructureprefix[section][number][prefixsegments=2:*]

\starttext
\chapter{Chapter one}

\section[S1]{Section one}

This is \in{section}[S1]   % displays 1 instead of 1.1

\stoptext

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks for your answers.

[NTG-context] random seed

2012-11-14 Thread Peter Rolf
Hi,

in one of my documents I use a specific random seed to create a fixed
random based graphic (size, color, position). This works fine under
Windows (where I 'found' the seed value), but I get a complete different
result on my Debian system.

Is there a way to get identical results on different OS? Or is the
random number generator OS specific? Just wondering...

yes and it cannot be trusted either (some underlying os code is used); i
also found out that you need to call a couple of random's in a row first
to get at least not the same ones in the beginning

in contetx I've now settled on:

math.initialseed =
tonumber(string.sub(string.reverse(tostring(ceil(socket and
socket.gettime()*1 or time(,1,6))

Thanks for the info. The formula looks like an incantation for the god
of random numbers ;-)

I already migrated the tex code to lua, so that I can do some post
processing on the collected random based data. To get identical results,
I only have to save the final data set then.

[NTG-context] Missing file.tuc with setuparranging[2SIDE]

2012-11-14 Thread Romain Diss
Hi,

I found a strange problem using \setuparranging[2SIDE] : the .tuc file is not
created anymore and this lead to a missing section number (for the first
section only). How can I remedy to that ? Any idea ?

The minimal example :
%%
\setuppapersize[A5][A4,landscape]
\setuparranging[2SIDE]

\starttext
\dorecurse{10}{
  \section{Knuth}
  \input knuth}
\stoptext
%%

If one comment the \setuparranging[2SIDE] line, everything is ok.

Thank you.
