Too many orange juice incidents there I guess.

More likely something to do with it maybe a form of Insurance and that is
highly regulated and treated in an adversarial manner. Especially after the
year with multiple hurricanes hitting us. A lot of the companies did not
have the reserves to pay out and their customers took a bath.

Hey Len,
To quote Dell's own advertising that I received The Vostro line is not
intended for use within a networked environment. Not entirely sure what
they mean by it, but it doesn't make me feel comfortable.
I only know two people have have got them for use at their home/home office

That really bizarre and I've never seen that advertising point as on
their website the advertise it as great for small business.
I support a small non-profit with 10 seats and I switched them over to
the Vostro line for both Desktop and Laptop as they replace older
systems. They are currently
I will add one thing here they do not have docking stations of any form.
That said we have 2 now with 2 more stolen over the Christmas holiday. They
are lighter in weight than the Latitute, they do come with less trash
software, the extended life battery sticks out the back like on the

Yeah, there's a reason for that:
Vostros are re-badged Inspirons, both desktops *and* laptops. Because of
that *I* will never buy one.
I'll stick with Latitudes, OptiPlexes and Precisions, thank you.

I wondered about that - not seeing any Inspirons on the web site. Having
used lots of Optiplexes and a bunch of Latitudes over the last 10 years and
having good luck with them and seeing some minor issues with Dimensions and
Inspirons in domain situations, I was trying to decide between the Vostro
, due to the lower demand.

If you're trying to save money I strongly recommend refurbished Dells -

You can get a refurbished Latitude or OptiPlex cheaper than you can an
identically-configured brand-new Vostro/Inspiron.

I second this... Have purchased literally hundreds of machines from the
Dell Outlet. Have had great success with them and saved lots of money.
Swing for the complete care for notebooks if you can. Covers user
damage
I'll third the complete care.
I recommend it to *everyone*. Most home users balk at the cost, but it
only takes one orange juice incident (named after my sister who
spilled her morning OJ in her Inspiron with just the basic warranty -
Dell wanted as much as a new one to fix it) for them to
