Within the past week I've setup a project on iNaturalist.org for tracking all wildlife on Governors Island. Feel free to view and add any observations. The only rule for adding a species (flora or fauna) is that the observation must have a photo. I've also created two new locations with

8/8/17 Roosevelt Truck Trail (Minerva) and Blueridge Road (North Hudson) in Essex County The Northern NY Audubon field trip on the Roosevelt Truck Trail began with a slight detour to a wonderful crossbill location today! None of the participants had ever observed either crossbill species, so

Well the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are finally on the move through my area.  I have two juv. right now and a total of probably three in the last week an a half.  No adult males yet, though hopefully I will get some. Andrew Andrew v. F. Block Consulting Naturalist 20 Hancock Avenue, Apt. 3
