Although we didn't keep track of numbers, Carole Berglie and I (Ardith Bondi), arriving at about 1PM, saw quite a few of the smaller shorebirds on the Jones Beach CGS sandbar, despite swimmers and boaters. They included Semipalmated Plovers, Semipalmated Sandpipers and Sanderlings. We also saw

Jones Beach West End 17 Aug Arrived at the Coast Guard Station arriving about 8:30. A Peregrine Falcon promptly flew by and about 2-300 small shorebirds promptly scattered and flew off. None of the larger shorebirds moved. About 9:00, one of the half dozen or so birders noticed the MARBLED
