I just happened onto a site for the Schoharie County Eagle Trail today which
peaked my interest since I went to school in Cobleskill and I'm very familiar
with the area. I had not heard of this trail, but it seems it's brand new,

numbers from monday are pretty much gone. Lots were heading north. As far as
I know only a white-fronted was found otherwise not much goose

The extralimital Redwing was seen all day today in Capisic Pond Park in
Portland, Maine. I also saw one of the two Dickcissels there and a Northern
Shrike. The Black-headed Grosbeak was seen briefly in the early morning but
not the rest of the day. A regular Patagonia Picnic Area Effect

Does anyone know if the towhee is still around Baldwin Park? I heard it was
seen again the other day but nobody posted it here. Is it still in the same
area? I heard it was with a fox sparrow, but they are being seen farther

No sign of the Spotted Towhee in Baldwin Town Park this am from dawn to 12
noon. After 16 hours of towhee searching this week I'm calling it quits. This
was one of if not the most difficult rarity I've searched for in years. Maybe
next time in 20 or 30 years when one shows up in NY:-(

Since it is a mega-rarity I figured I could report it here even though it's in

Seems to have last been seen around 9:30am or so. I was there from 10:30am to

Went to look today for the White Pelican at the Ashoken Reservoir that was

I know it's extralimital, but today while at Bartholomew's Cobble in Ashley
Falls, MA, I had a Myiarchus flycatcher across from the parking lot along the
trail just past the big elm before the trail goes up hill into the woods. It
seemed to be a little smaller than a Great Crested Flycatcher

While out fishing in Verplanck today I saw an adult Snow Goose with the usual
Canadas and Mallards that hang out at the Steamboat Waterfront Park at the end
of Hardie St. That's where an immature was a couple of winters ago. This
adult has a busted wing so pretty obvious why it's around.

Canadas and Mallards that hang out at the Steamboat Waterfront Park at the end
of Hardie St. That's where an immature was a couple of winters ago. This
adult has a busted wing so pretty obvious why it's around.

My buddy who lives on Macy Rd. in Briarcliff Manor just told me that while

Hi all,
Spent from 5pm to 9:30pm looking for rails and trying to see what the cranes
were up to. No luck on the Soras or Kings (if they are still breeding here),
but did have a Virginia briefly call during the day. I wonder if the rails
there start calling at 10pm like they do in CT? I

Just saw a post on Facebook with a ok photo of what looked like an adult
Trumpeter Swan at Partridge Run WMA in Middleburgh in Schoharie Co. A very
nice bird for that area. My old stomping grounds.

Trumpeter Swan at Partridge Run WMA in Middleburgh in Schoharie Co. A very
nice bird for that area. My old stomping grounds.

I'm sure it's an escape, though remotely possible vagrants. Still a nice bird
