 Hello,

I was looking for a small Windows program for raising the volume of some of
my OTR MP3 files that were barely audible.

 Came across the following:
 www.mp3volumer.com

This program does a great job at doing exactly what I wanted. In addition,
it allows you to encode the audio file into another format.
 Completely accessible to JAWS.

 Very very fast!
You can also batch process an entire folder too.

Thought I would share this find with the group.

 Have a good day!

I just shake my head though when it comes to that muffled speaker for
audio, all my phones do far better than what the Stream does but then
again audio has always been a problem with the Stream.

The handling of multiple format files - for recording as well as
playback - is a welcom addition and - at the very least - the quality of
audio from the headphones jack seems to be quite acceptable.

Hi!

I just bought one of these units and would like to make comment on my
purchase.

Firstly I think that the unit does a brilliant job for what it is in
most respects.

The sound from the internal speaker is a little muffled however -
having
already heard a VR Stream - I was already prepared for this, a bit
of an
annoyance one might say so to overcome this I use a small BUniden
hand-held amplified battery speaker I've had for years, cost me $25
about 7 years ago, pity the Stream doesn't have Bluetooth but I guess a
product can't have everythint.

Now I don't know whether this is my unit in particular but I have
noticed that the downloading of data seems to be incredibly slow
compared to other devices I have on my network, I used the "Check for
Updates" function and - according to that - the firmware is up to date,
well at least the data does get downloaded I guess.

There's a hell of a lot of functionality packed into the VR Stream box
and a lot of this - such as the Internet Radio, podcasts and so forth -
I won't bother using - given I already have better solutions for that
sort of thing - but for those who don't the VR Stream provides a great
entry level to the world of Internet Radio and Podcasting.

Getting online with the Vision Australia library was a snap so I
downlaoded a couple of books.

Again, I have other Apps and so forth which I prefer to use myself but
the Stream is convenient for reading, no doubt about that even though I
read all my newspapers these days straight from the web site its
good to
know I have a reliable backup.

What's the joined file called?

is the podcast's intro song; file2 is my recording showing how I

generates both files into one, right? What's the name or how would I
know which file is the joined one, so as to safely be able to Shift+c
the two previous files, my voice recording and the podcast's intro song,
so when I go to save or export the generated file, I'll know that I'm
working with the right one? Thanks for info.

Any good audiotutorials on Audasity?

2016-10-15 Thread Gerardo Corripio

 HI listers, especially Audacity fans/users
Any good/comprehensive Audacity tutorials/audios to see if that's what
I'm looking for in a recording program? I record 2 online radio
programs, thus what I'm looking for is something like what I'll describe
below:
1.-I have the main file to which I'll record my voice on which we'll
call File1;
2.-Before I record, I'd like to start playing the Intro song of the
program (it's in File2 so I open File2 and begin playing the song),
after which I'd return to File1 so when I get to the point where I'd
like to begin talking, speak, thus I'm wanting to all this come out on
my Voice file which we'll call File1.
2.-Then I'm recording away, and in File3 there's another track which I'd
like to lay, so I open File3, play, return to File1 and when I feel it's
the right time, I record my voice in File1, coming out in File1 my Voice
and the music.
In GoldWave this can't be done, thus needing to record the entire
program first, then when I get to the spots where I'm wanting to mix in
the audio music, via the Mix command, thus I wonder with Audacity this
step and be avoided? Also does Audacity have commands to place
beginning/ending markers to mark what needs to be deleted, or
manipulated like with GoldWave? Also does Audacity have some sort of
NVDA AddOn? Thanks for any info you guys might have on this subject.

was at a discount, as the days wore on, I downloaded the PDF manual, and
there it clearly said that some of the funcionts like jumping from
folder to folder, and programming the radio stations, needed the remote,
so you have me going to Sams where they said they couldn't do anything
of the remote not being included; afterwards I went to the downtown and
asked around, but couldn't find the remote! The only thing was they had
to order it, but would rather maybe going to a physical store, thus i
wonder if I would go to the US, to a Panasonic store, would they have

if you got it used, it is supposed to have a remote, but the seller doesn't

version of Replay Media Catcher 6.0.0.72 available. Write me offlist.
You should listen to the tutorials first to get an idea like the main
interface and compare it with Window Eyes 9.1 on how it looks. Its
free if you plan to use only for youtube media captures. If you really
like the program I have blind promo codes available. This company
strives for accessibility when possible.

I do not profit from these codes.

Now to NVDA 2015.1 users
This version has not been publicly released yet but will be. I made
an audio tutorial showing the new and improved user interface using
NVDA. I will release a new tutorial each day. Do not try to use a
older version of Replay Media Catcher 6 with NVDA as it will not work
for you. Look for version 6.0.0.72 or greater. I am still looking for
power NVDA users to test because I am seeing some controls I need

If you plan to capture just the youtube media this program is
completely free and captures 100% of the youtube media.

I don't understand: adding station to TapinRadio

2015-01-27 Thread Gerardo Corripio

 Hi guys
I don't understand if sometime ago I suggested they add the station
KMBH-FM off Rio Grande Valley in texas, they didn't do so? Any pointers
on what info to give Tapin? The site of the station is
http://tunein.com/radio/KMBH-FM-881-s32965/ I know it's the site off
TuneIn but I couldn't find any other site to give; because when clicking
on the site, it plays on my PC, I thought maybe via this site, Tapin
would be able to add the station, but maybe not? Thanks for ideas.

Yes, you can indeed use all the SAPI voices installed in your computer, I
tried it with a Loquendo voice and an ATT voice.

The Lame folder you download from the internet, uncompress and save to your
hard drive; the first time you try to convert text to MP3, the program will
ask you for its location; you enter the full path to lame.exe and that's
all, the program will do the rest. Alternatively, you may copy the lame.exe
and lamenc.dll to the folder where the program resides.

Hi
I would wait. Will tell you more in the next few days unless Humberto helps
you. I do not know which voices they have but they use standard SAPI. When I

went to their website a pleasant Brithis female vocie spoke. Most likely you

can use the installed voices you have on your computer that are SAPI.
Usually you will have to install and then point the two files lame and
lameenc.dll to your C:\program files\Specsoft\ folder

Hello all.
I'm sorry if this has been discussed loads of times before, I'm new to
the list and unsure how to search passed messages.

I am totaly blind and am looking for an mp3 player. here are a few points.
i am using a sony nwz model at the moment, this is fine but it's only
16 gb. I have about 3 tb of music and collect records, so this is
getting to be not nearly enough even for day to day use, especially if
i go on holidays.
I don't care if it talks or not, in a lot of ways i'd rather it didn't.
I know that you can get big takling ipods, but I don't think I like
those too much.
The most important thing for me is that on my sony I can use the up
and down to go back and forth by album and left and right by track. I
love this feature about it, but I would like something with simple
menues so that if I so wish I can put it on shuffle for a while.

Do you folks have any suggestions to check out?
sorry for the long post!
Rob.

and down to go back and forth by album and left and right by track. I
love this feature about it, but I would like something with simple
menues so that if I so wish I can put it on shuffle for a while.

Do you folks have any suggestions to check out?
sorry for the long post!
Rob.

Windows7 Switching between recording profiles?

2014-03-15 Thread Gerardo Corripio

 HI listers
OK let me give a little background so we can be on the same channel on
my question. I've want to be able to switch between two settings within
Recording Properties
1.-To record my voice as have it default, I have my Laptop's Internal
Mike as the Default Recording device;
2.-However when I record podcasts especially where I demo the use of
programs on my Laptop (I have the system sounds and my voice recording
at the same time), I go into the System Tray's HP Speaker 100% Icon,
Recording Properties, and change the setting to Use Playback as the
default Record device (on some laptops it's StereoMix), Under Internal
Mike still on Recording, I activate the Listen to this Device, thus this
permits me to have the system sounds and my voice recorded at the same time.
My question is is there a setup I could use maybe via a Shortcut key, to
permit me to change this back and forth without having to do all the
keystrokes mentioned above? Yes Iknow of the existance (I used it when I
had Windows XP) of Quick mix to switch between these two recording
setups, but haven't seen into using it since I don't know how compatible
it is with Windows7? Thanks for info.

If winamp doesn't recognise the order properly, you may as well add

   HI guys
Is it only me, or when you guys Alt+tab away from Goldwave and want to
get back, you land on some kind of Play Control instead of on the file
you want to continue recording or working on? Ihave to, in order to get
back to the file, do Insert+f10 and once on the Running Aplications, do
G several times until I get to Goldwave's file. Any other way around?
Thanks for info! OH and by the way using Windows7 if it makes any
difference.

Re: Search for recording solution

2013-12-17 Thread Gerardo Corripio
HI Laz? I had the same problem as you until Idon't know where or how I
found out, of a feature called Playback. I'm talking from experience of
here in Windows7 with the RealTech High Definition Audio soundcard that
comes default in Windows7. Does Windows Vista have this? Any if you have
this card, look for an option that says Playback; this Playback records
both Jaws and my voice. Is this what you're looking for?

Hi all,

I've been using Windows XP for recording and had very good success,
until my Windows XP machine decided to give up the ghost, something
about the motherboard. Until the Xp computer gave up the ghost, I had
made several recordings in which I recorded from the mic, audio in
line, and the screen reader at the same time.

I'm temporarily using my wife's old Windows Vista laptop until I can
get a Windows 7 desktop computer and have found that this is no longer
possible, or at least not as i was used to doing it in XP.

What would be the solution for regaining the ability to record from
the mic, audio line in, and record the screen reader at the same time
if I wished to? I would prefer to use Goldwave for recording as I'm
used to it.

I've considered that it may take the purchase of either an external
sound card or a mixer of some sort. If so, are there any
recommendations? My recordings aren't professional by any means, so it
doesn't have to be expensive, whatever the solution is.

Thanks in advance and happy holidays everyone!

combining music and voice track?

2013-06-09 Thread Gerardo Corripio
HI listers?I'm Gerardo from Mexico; I use Goldwave to record podcasts
and am really looking forward to learning more on Goldwave and other
audio topics on the list!

My question debut is how to combine in a music file, my voice.
The scenario is this: I have a voice track and a music file; I'm wanting
to start the music and thirty seconds into the song, have part of the
voice speak while lowering the song's volume; then the music regain its
normal volume, and a few seconds after, lower the music volume and have
another part of the voice play; again regain the music's volume, and
several seconds after have the last part of the voice play and regain
the music volume.

How Igo about doing it is kind of a nightmare!
1.-I have the two files opened in Goldwave; I've already marked in the
song, where into the music I want to start speaking;

2.-The part of the voice track to start is 3 seconds thirty;
3.-I then go into the music file, and placed on the marked beginning
position, start playing while counting one thousand one one thousand two
one thousand three one thousand which usually lands me near when I mark
with right bracket the end position where I'll be done speaking, near
the three seconds thirty; if it doesn't, I narrow down the zoom and move
the right marker until it's about right;
4.-I then via the Effects/Volume (Alt+c and u) go into Dropout and Duck
and perform the task in the marked position on the music song.
5.-I then mix the audio track part which usually goes fine, but when it
does, I cancel the whole operation and remark again the music file.
For the next audio track part, I again listen to the music, and when I
feel I want to start again speaking, I mark the part, go into the audio
voice file with Shift+tab, see it's duration, go back with Shift+tab to
the music file and start counting; mark where I think the end is;
imagine doing this over and over! Is there an easier way or is this the
only way available? Thanks for any feedback!

How to resample? Re: combining music and voice track?

2013-06-09 Thread Gerardo Corripio
OK. I tried with Voice Over, but a message came up that the file needs to be
the same sample rate as the music. Other than resave the voice track with the
same sample rate as the song, any other alternative like resampling on the fly,
or even better, a function that'd resample the voice track with the same specs
as the music? Thanks for info.

Gerardo try using the voice-over effect under the effects menu. I think it
 will be a lot easier.

Subject: combining music and voice track?

1.-I have the two files opened in Goldwave; I've already marked in the
 song, where into the music I want to start speaking;
 2.-The part of the voice track to start is 3 seconds thirty;
3.-I then go into the music file, and placed on the marked beginning
position, start playing while counting one thousand one one thousand two
one thousand three one thousand which usually lands me near when I mark
with right bracket the end position where I'll be done speaking, near
the three seconds thirty; if it doesn't, I narrow down the zoom and move
 the right marker until it's about right;
4.-I then via the Effects/Volume (Alt+c and u) go into Dropout and Duck
and perform the task in the marked position on the music song.
5.-I then mix the audio track part which usually goes fine, but when it
does, I cancel the whole operation and remark again the music file.
For the next audio track part, I again listen to the music, and when I
feel I want to start again speaking, I mark the part, go into the audio
voice file with Shift+tab, see it's duration, go back with Shift+tab to
 the music file and start counting; mark where I think the end is;
imagine doing this over and over! Is there an easier way or is this the
only way available? Thanks for any feedback!
