I got rid of Quicktime simply because it wanted to take over my
PC and install itself into everything.
There are very few files that actually need QT; I manage happily
with Winamp and Mediaplayer Classic (with FFMpeg codec package),
with the occasional excursion into VLC if I find something the

I tried that save target thing; no soap! Quicktime just jumps right in!
As for this default program thing: that seems to either not work for me or
I don't understand how I'm supposed to work with it! Meanwhile (at least
for now) I

Quick time is from Apple. Since it was taken with an Android phone, chances
are that Windows Media or Winamp will play it just fine. I'd try that first.

I took Quick time out of my machine because of that. I did the same thing
you did. I had something I needed to watch. I took it out as soon as I was
done. The problem is that it isn't easy to remove. I forget how I did it now
unfortunately.

Why don't you just change the default programs in windows. I think you are
using windows 7, so go into control and find default settings.
when there, tab over to list view. hit a letter such as windows for windows
media player and tab to where it says make default program, hit apply

Actually I am stupid, it should have been control panel. I may have wanted
you to search for control or something in the search box.

Tom, if all else fails, just search for default or default programs and you
should find what you want.
