I have that filter and have the same issues with lens caps. I use the cap that came with the filter - still not a positive retention but better than no cap. I believe that filter was specifically designed slim the prevent vignetting with the wider lenses. I would imagine other 'slim' filters

I really don't know what to tell you, I've got a variety of Circular Polarizers from Hoya, Tiffen, and re-branders such as Vivitar etc. and while all remove reflections when used properly, all impart some sort of color shift, usually brownish. Now almost all of them, are well, mid. to low
