Depending on the type of work you want to do, I 'd go with either a
100mm or 50mm f2.8 macro. Personally I use a D-FA 100 f2.8 and find the
results to be excellent. I have a Sigman 50mm f 2.8 that is also
excellent. I also use an M 50 f4 macro from time to time.

Congrats on getting the Q - it is a ton of fun and kicks out pretty
decent images as well.
I bought a used Q Kit that had the standard prime, standard zoom,
fisheye and toy telephoto. I added a K to Q converter right off the bat.
The 5-15mm zoom has been my most used lens with the standard
PS: Forgot to add - get a couple spare batteries, as the Q chews through
them pretty quickly.

It finally happened - my trusty old SMC A* 200mm macro developed a problem this
past weekend, and there is clearly an issue in the linkage between the arm that
controls the aperture and the aperture mechanism itself. I sent it off to
Pentax
in hopes that they can get it fixed

Thanks, Jack - if it is a known isue at least I won't have to spend as much
time convincing Pentax or BH that it is a real issue. I'm seeing it at ISO
200, 400, and 800. (I haven't shot much at higher speeds...)

problem. In fact, we might want to call it an epidemic:
an RMA, they will
exchange the camera. It took all of 2 minutes on the phone to explain the
problem and get things set up.
